Длиннющая (160 минут) полудокументальная биографическая драма о Жуан Линъюй, покончившей с собой в 24 года на пике карьеры, (в кино присутствуют отрывки с последней актрисой немого кино Ли Лили, сдружившейся с главной героиней во время съемок фильмов в 30е годы). Мегги Чун за роль Жуан Линъюй получила награду "Лучшая актриса"" на Берлинском кинофестивале 1992 года. Любителям экшена и драк кино покажется весьма скучным, так как рассчитано на взаимоотношения и эмоциональную игру актеров.
