Description:
Ao Tian-Long (Lam Ching-Ying) and Da Huang (Kent Cheng), disciples of the Maoshan school, both fall in love with Meng-Meng, the cherished daughter of their master. On his deathbed, the master devises a test to see which of them is more sincere, and Da Huang wins his trust through trickery. Though Meng-Meng's heart belongs to Tian-Long, she cannot defy her father's wishes, and Tian-Long leaves in anger. Eighteen years pass in a flash. The son of Da Huang and Meng-Meng, Lian-Gao (Chin Shih-Erh), has grown into a handsome young man, and Tian-Long's daughter Ning-Hong (Gigi Lai) has also come of age. Show more One day, father and daughter return to their hometown to visit relatives and on the way encounter the Red-Robed Fire Ghost wreaking havoc among mortals. Tian-Long, at great effort, subdues it and locks it in a ghost cage.
Back in their hometown, Da Huang and Tian-Long, once fellow disciples, still harbor a rift and regard each other with hostility. Lian-Gao accidentally releases the Fire Ghost, which has now grown far more powerful, and neither Tian-Long nor Da Huang can handle it alone. To defeat the Fire Ghost, the two finally set aside their grievances and join forces once more
