Description:
The story takes place in 1930s China, where the Japanese invasion has left this vast land scarred and battered. Zhang Ji-Sheng (Myolie Wu) was an ordinary woman, newly married to her husband Zhou Xi-Ji (Edwin Siu) and preparing to enjoy a happy life. Yet one day she watched helplessly as her loved ones and her beloved died at the hands of the enemy, and though she survived, she suffered humiliation. Having lost everything and seeing no reason to live, Zhang Ji-Sheng thought of ending her own life, but was saved by guerrilla commander Jiang Shang-Hong (Wayne Lai). Show more
In such turbulent times, genuine feelings arose between Zhang Ji-Sheng and Jiang Shang-Hong, but Zhang Ji-Sheng could not forget her hatred, and Jiang Shang-Hong carried a dark past of his own; this love was a weight neither of them could bear. On Jiang Shang-Hong's recommendation, Zhang Ji-Sheng joined the Communist Party and, assuming the guise of a Cantonese opera performer under the stage name Shui Fu-Rong, secretly gathered enemy intelligence and repeatedly distinguished herself in battle.
