Chinese Paladin is adapted from the most classic PC game in gaming history.
Li Xiao-Yao (Hu Ge), who dreams only of mastering martial arts and making a name for himself in the jianghu, travels to a fairy island in search of a miraculous elixir to save his aunt Li Da-Shen, the only family he has, who has suddenly fallen ill with a strange disease. There, by a twist of fate, he meets a mysterious young girl, Zhao Ling-Er (Liu Yi-Fei). The two take to each other at once and marry that very day, promising never to forget one another. Show more Xiao-Yao leaves the island with the golden elixir to save his aunt, but is tricked into taking the "Carefree Powder," which erases everything about Ling-Er from his memory! Ling-Er, now pregnant, is devastated, and then discovers the truth that she is a descendant of Nuwa, Mother of the Earth. Bound by her mission to save all living beings, she has no choice but to set aside her personal feelings. On his travels through the jianghu, Xiao-Yao meets Liu Jin-Yuan and his cousin Lin Yue-Ru (Ady Ang), tough on the outside but gentle within, and gradually develops feelings for this love-hate companion. Where will Li Xiao-Yao's heart ultimately lead him? And what fate does Zhao Ling-Er, descendant of Nuwa, carry? What ending do the strange events along the way foretell?
