Description:
During the Ming Dynasty, endless tributes and levies drove the people into poverty, and mounted bandits ran rampant. Those who survived the bandits' raids lived in constant fear. With no government troops sent to wipe them out, the common folk had no choice but to resist the bandits with their own limited strength. But against the ruthless bandits, the people's resistance was futile: wherever the bandits rampaged, corpses lay everywhere and blood flowed like rivers. To save the people from annihilation, the Buddhist and Daoist communities and the martial arts world all stepped forward. Show more During one clash with the bandit leader, Zhao Long and his wife Bai Feng, masters of the Tianlong School, were both poisoned and left at death's door.
The poison that afflicted Bai Feng seeped into her unborn child. To preserve Zhao Long's flesh and blood, Bai Feng, despite her senior's objections, endured the torment of the bandits' poison and seven months later gave birth to a boy named Wuxie. After the birth, Bai Feng's life came to an end. Zhao Long, saved by the Hundred Flowers Resurrection Pill sent by the Cangshan sect leader with his disciple Zhou You, temporarily suppressed the poison. Zhou You, a poor orphan, was taken in by the senior and became Zhao Long's disciple.
Time flew, seasons changed, and more than a decade passed. Over the years, Wuxie, Zhou You, and Xiao Juan, who later joined the Longhu Men, made great progress in martial arts under Zhao Long's tutelage. But along with their skills, their temperaments grew ever more different. Zhou You was kind, generous, and noble, winning the affection of Zhao Long and the senior. Wuxie, tainted by the bandits' poison, was cruel, cunning, and unruly.
As his health declined, Zhao Long passed the leadership of the Longhu Men to Zhou You, which aroused Wuxie's hatred. That night, Wuxie tried to steal the token of the sect leader but was caught by his father. Blinded by greed, Wuxie ignored the bond between father and son, wounded his father, and left the Longhu Men with Xiao Juan. Zhao Long, overcome with grief, died. After burying his master, Zhou You, remembering his teacher's dying wish, set out to find Wuxie.
Having failed to become the leader of the Longhu Men, Wuxie swore to find the Tianji Sword, which had been split in two and lost to the martial world a century ago. Wuxie found the sword and, with its power, challenged the martial arts world. Over the next ten years, he roamed the martial world, leaving a trail of blood. To save Wuxie, who had been corrupted by the poison to the point of demonhood, Zhou You went into seclusion for ten years, training hard, and finally mastered the supreme art of the sect leader. Having understood the senior's guidance and the secret manual left by his master, Zhou You used the five-element formation of water, wood, metal, fire, and earth, and at the cost of his own life, helped Wuxie expel the poison and return to human form. Five years later, Wuxie reappeared at the Longhu Men, handed Zhou You's memorial tablet and the Tianji Sword to the sect leader Xiao Juan, and vanished from the martial world forever.
