Xiao Tian-Ding (Ashton Chen) lost his parents at a young age, with no one to rely on, and ended up on the streets. One day, after stealing lamp oil from a temple, he was beaten badly, but luckily the head of a theater troupe (Blacky Ko) happened to pass by and saved him. Xiao Tian-Ding had once been a performer in his troupe, and now, reunited, the troupe leader took him on as an apprentice — and from then on Tian-Ding had a home to call his own.
Years passed in the blink of an eye, and Tian-Ding (Jimmy Lin) had grown into a man of true stature. Show more In fact, the troupe leader was one of the men under the anti-Japanese patriot Lin Shao-Mao, and the rampaging Japanese had killed first Lin Shao-Mao and then the troupe leader. Tian-Ding swore to avenge his master. One day, Tian-Ding rescued a young girl named A-Ye (Zhan Xiao-Nan) from the hands of the Japanese, and in doing so incurred their wrath. With no other choice, Tian-Ding had to set out on the run together with his good friend Hong-Gui (Daniel Luo).

Если честно , фильм начинал смотреть только из-за Вивиан Су , что в принципе и после просмотра осталось для меня единственным поводом . Это не значит , что перед вами очередной тайваньский трэш. Это своего рода запоздалая перепевка Кулака легенды , Кулака ярости и серии Однажды в Китае с Джетом Ли на тайваньский мотив .Отсюда явно патриотическая составляющая без исторической достоверности и должны быть бои...Но все старания постановщиков боев сведены на нет ужасным монтажем и операторской работой . хотя при желании...Повествование скомканное , как и сама концовка , а вот концовка персонажа Вивиан Су в ленте интригует и настораживает. Ещё хотелось бы сказать , что Джимми Линь здесь старается играть и уж точно не разу не "тайваньский стивен чоу для бедных". Плюс доедающий собаку на фильмах такой тематики Сик Сиу-Лунг. Укрошением же фильма является Вивиан Су.
А вообще весь сюжет о каком-то сильном сопротивлении японцам на Тайване местная байка , шумели в основном аборигены , да и по невзрачным совершенно поводам (кто смотрел Воины радуги с той же Вивиан Су - поймет ).
