Description:
The Kangxi Emperor has died, and Yongzheng (Yueh Hua) takes the throne. Defying all honor, Yongzheng orders Nian Gengyao (Lo Lieh) to wipe out his own fellow disciples — the Eight Heroes of Jiangnan. But Lu Siniang (Hsu Feng) and a few others escape, and they swear to kill Yongzheng.
Nian Gengyao wins battle after battle, conquering half the realm for Yongzheng, and grows arrogant, believing his merits outweigh his sovereign's. At the victory banquet he loses his composure while drunk, shows Yongzheng no respect, and offends him with insolent words. Show more Yongzheng orders him demoted, and finally stripped down to a gate guard, while secretly sending the Blood Droplets to kill him. Only because Lu Siniang and her companions arrive in time does Nian escape. Cursing his own blindness, Nian gouges out both his eyes and dies in bitterness, but before his death he tells Lu Siniang of a secret passage into the palace so she can attempt the assassination. Lu Siniang and her companions enter the palace but fail to kill Yongzheng, so they turn to a honey trap, planting spies inside the palace, and at last succeed in assassinating him.
