The King of Wuxia 大侠胡金铨

Description:

King Hu was a groundbreaking master of wuxia cinema. The film aesthetics he pioneered continue to deeply influence renowned directors such as Tsui Hark and Ang Lee, and even the global film industry. Spanning Taiwan, Hong Kong, mainland China, and the United States, this film features interviews with over forty influential figures to provide an in-depth analysis of the extraordinary qualities of King Hu's films. It also reveals for the first time his obsessive pursuit of perfection and his winding, drifting life journey. Following in the footsteps of Shih Chun, we return to the filming locations of yesteryear, as if traveling through time and space. The swordsman has grown old, yet he never gives up searching for the figure of the great director. Memories of fifty years flash like epiphanies—sincere and deeply moving.
