Description:
“Ding Xiao-Yu has leukemia.” When attending physician Lin Fang-Jing pronounced these words like a sentence, Bai Ru-Xue and Ding Shi-Jie were stunned. A family that had once inspired boundless envy had fallen into an abyss of disaster. A matrimonial advertisement placed by their son Pan Long-Bao to find a wife for his father caused no small trouble. The wealthy businessman Pan Qing-Tang, gazing at a chirping crowd of women in his office, did not know whether to laugh or cry, and he revealed to his son Long-Bao a beautiful story he had kept hidden in his heart for thirty years. Show more
How were Bai Ru-Xue and Ding Shi-Jie to “save their daughter”? The father stepped forward: he would sell his own kidney, while the mother made the decision to marry Pan Qing-Tang. “I decided to marry you for the money. I don’t want to owe you anything,” Bai Ru-Xue told Pan. Pan looked at this beautiful woman he had secretly loved for thirty years and was left speechless. “I will be the tragic figure you speak of — Xiao-Yu’s mother,” Xiao-Yu’s attending physician Lin Fang-Jing said to Ding Shi-Jie. Thus two seemingly happy “remarried families” came into being.
“With a mother, I’ll have a complete family, just like my classmates,” Pan Long-Bao had once naively dreamed. But why, now that “auntie” had come, did even his father care about him less than before? “My mother is the greatest, she is irreplaceable,” cried Ding Xiao-Yu from the bottom of her heart after recovering from her illness.
Long-Bao’s drug addiction and downfall! Bai Ru-Xue bears undeniable responsibility! The appearance of her biological son Charlie! Xiao-Yu’s puppy love and running away from home! How will Lin Fang-Jing choose? The two “remarried families” totter on the brink! The “remarried parents” in both families suffer unbearably! It is the father’s blood that washes away the son’s sins, and Bai Ru-Xue’s words “Son, I’ll be waiting for you to come back” leave Long-Bao in tears. Just when a glimmer of hope appears, Jones — the man who in Lin Fang-Jing’s heart should long ago have rotted in hell — comes before her once more, and Ding Shi-Jie’s heart loses its balance again.
