Description:
The story takes place somewhere in Northeast China. On December 18, Zhang, the municipal committee secretary who knew the inside story of the Donggang stock case in Songjiang City, is shot dead. Investigator Fang Yu-Lin, after reviewing the files, concludes that the case is deeply entangled with provincial and municipal leaders. Liao Hong-Yu, the whistleblower in the Donggang case, is introduced through a favor from Deputy Mayor Zhou Mi and comes to work under Feng Xiang-Long of the Jiutian Group. She is sent to a warehouse base, where she secretly gathers evidence that Feng Xiang-Long has embezzled state assets. She writes a report late at night, but before long Feng's men attack her with blades. She is saved in secret by Dr. Su, and Liao Hong-Yu decides to take her complaint to Beijing. Fang Yu-Lin is drawn to Ding Jie, but Ding Jie has frequent contact with Zhou Mi, and by now Zhou Mi has become a prime suspect in Fang Yu-Lin's eyes. The Central Discipline Inspection Commission steps in to investigate the major case. Feng Xiang-Long is arrested as a suspect, while the key suspect Zhou Mi is about to leave the country on an inspection tour. At this critical moment, can Fang Yu-Lin produce ironclad evidence?
