Description:
Director Kang Honglei is known for such celebrated military dramas as Soldiers Sortie, My Chief and My Regiment, and The Years of Burning Passion. My Special Friends is his first foray into a "fashionable women's drama." Moving from male-driven stories known for their tough-guy portrayals to a tale of close female friends, the subject matter could hardly be more different. Told from the perspective of three women, the series depicts the petit-bourgeois lifestyle of urban white-collar women born in the 1970s, capturing the joys and sorrows these "leftover women" experience in life and career, and reflecting the idealistic, ambitious, sunny, and resilient side of white-collar women of that generation.
