Description:

The drama tells the story of Xiao Ping-Jing, who is studying at Langya Pavilion, investigating the case of his elder brother Xiao Ping-Zhang, deputy commander of the Lin Army, and becoming entangled in a matter that threatens the safety of Great Liang.
The court of Great Liang is stable, but the border is constantly at war. The Changlin Army, guarding the northern border of Great Liang, has repeatedly won military honors and enjoys great prestige. During one battle at the northern border, Xun Bai-Shui, the Grand Secretary of the Cabinet, secretly cut off supplies to the front line. Trapped in battle, Xiao Ping-Zhang (Huang Xiao-Ming), deputy commander of the Changlin Army, is gravely wounded. His younger brother Xiao Ping-Jing (Liu Hao-Ran), who is studying at Langya Pavilion, hears the news and descends the mountain to investigate. Thirty years earlier, the neighboring state of Yeqin suffered an epidemic, and Great Liang sealed its borders to protect itself. Pu Yang-Ying (Guo Jing-Fei), harboring a grudge over the destruction of his nation, lurks within Great Liang and colludes with Mo Zi-Hou, the first master on the Langya List and ruler of Donghai, to secretly dismantle the power of Emperor Liang and the Changlin Manor. The two spread poison throughout the capital, and the epidemic rapidly spreads. Pu Yang-Ying sets a trap, causing both Xiao Ping-Jing and Xiao Ping-Zhang to be poisoned one after the other. At this time, the northern border is in urgent danger. Xiao Ping-Zhang gives up treatment and rushes to the front line to provide support, then dies when the poison takes effect. A year later, Emperor Liang dies, and Dayu invades Great Liang. Xun Bai-Shui and Prince Laiyang, Xiao Yuan-Qi (Wu Hao-Chen), coax the young Emperor Liang into issuing an edict banning the raising of troops at the border. Xiao Ping-Jing defies the edict and goes to battle, crushing Dayu, and the Changlin formation is therefore abolished. Xiao Yuan-Qi secretly colludes with Mo Zi-Hou, betraying the country and plotting rebellion.
