Description:
The final years of the Eastern Han dynasty. The court is in chaos. Within, the treacherous Dong Zhuo (Lui Xiao-He) holds sway over the whole court, tyrannical and overbearing; beyond the capital, the Yellow Turban Rebellion shakes the very foundations of the empire. Meanwhile, Cao Cao (Chen Jian-Bin) bides his time, hiding his ambitions, hoping to rid the realm of this villain. Fleeing the capital, Cao Cao joins a coalition with twenty lords from across the land — Yuan Shao, Liu Bei (Yu Rong-Guang), Sun Jian and others — to march together against Dong Zhuo. Show more After many battles, Dong Zhuo finally meets his end at the hands of his adopted son Lv Bu (Peter Ho). By now the great Han dynasty is nearing its end, and heroes everywhere covet the realm — and so begins the great drama of warlords contending for supremacy. Guan Yu (Yu Rong-Guang), Zhang Fei, Zhuge Liang (Lu Yi), Zhou Yu, Xia Hou-Yuan, Lu Xun, Jiang Wei, Sima Yi (Ni Da-Hong) and other towering figures enter the stage one after another, and the realm splits into three — Wei, Shu and Wu. This legend has been passed down through the ages to this day…
The film is adapted from Romance of the Three Kingdoms, one of China's four great classical novels.
