Meng Yun (Han Geng) is an ordinary young man living in Beijing who has achieved modest success at work. At this "extraordinary" wedding of an ex-girlfriend, he unexpectedly meets Xia Lu (Anna Yao), a girl seated at the "ex-girlfriend table" arranged by the bridegroom. Thus Meng Yun and the ex-girlfriend of the husband of his ex-girlfriend begin a love that catches them off guard.
Meng Yun runs a small company in partnership with two college classmates, Yu Fei (Ryan Zheng) and Luo Qian (Claudia Wang); the three started out in the hard early days of entrepreneurship right after graduation and have come this far together, and about their youth they treasure memories that belong to them alone. Yet Luo Qian's feelings for Meng Yun have stretched from their youth all the way to the present: for fourteen years she has quietly watched over Meng Yun, while Meng Yun, without realizing it, loves Luo Qian. Accompanied and witnessed by his good buddy Yu Fei and Xia Lu's best friend Xiao Wen (Ban Jia-Jia), the love of Meng Yun and Xia Lu endures trial after trial from a succession of outrageous exes: the neurotic and fragile ex-girlfriend Ling Ling (Madina Memet), the alcoholic ex-girlfriend Meng Meng (Xiong Nai-Jin), the spendthrift ex-girlfriend Shang Dan (Ada Liu), and Xia Lu's ex-boyfriend Park Eun-Ho (Lee Sang-Yeob), who is so poor he has nothing but money — all of them affect their love to a greater or lesser degree. Just as the clever girl Xia Lu averts one crisis after another, she never expects that Luo Qian will become an insurmountable gulf. Luo Qian gets engaged to Zhao Ming (Zhang Han-Yu), a wealthy, mature and attentive man; at the engagement banquet, a drunken Luo Qian reveals her true feelings, and Meng Yun too discovers the love for Luo Qian buried deep in his heart. Xia Lu cannot face their feelings and flees from the engagement banquet. Soon afterward, during a quarrel, Xia Lu loses her footing and falls down the stairs, causing a miscarriage.
How will Meng Yun, Xia Lu and Luo Qian pick up the pieces of their feelings, and where will everyone's hearts ultimately find their home?
