Biography:
In Hong Kong, Ada Choi is remembered as the leading lady of TVB dramas at the turn of the 1990s and 2000s: at 25 she won the channel's award for Best Actress and remains its youngest ever recipient. Mainland China rediscovered her more than a decade later, when she played the calculating empress in Empresses in the Palace, while fans of Stephen Chow Sing-Chi's comedies know her as Princess Iron Fan from A Chinese Odyssey. Behind this success lie a difficult childhood, her mother's debts, and years when the public and the press regarded the young actress with anything but sympathy.
