Shi Xiao-Na is Yang Shu-Mao’s first love, but the happiness is short-lived: her father sends his daughter off to university in Hong Kong. Ye Fei, born into an intellectual family, is elegant, quiet and upright — the person who most shaped Yang Shu-Mao’s worldview. To everyone’s surprise, Yang Shu-Mao — low in emotional intelligence but high in IQ — turns out to have a real gift for business, and within a year he has firmly established himself in Guangzhou.
Zhao Ya-Jing harbors feelings for him, but Shi Xiao-Na stands in the way. Then fate seems to lend a hand: Shi’s father steps in to “discipline” Yang Shu-Mao a second time, and Yang Shu-Mao finally grasps the gulf between social classes — his relationship with Shi Xiao-Na gradually fades away.
