Yi Nian You Yi Nian 一年又一年

Description:

The story begins in 1978. Chen Fu-Sheng (Teng Ru-Jun) is a film projectionist and has a son named Chen Huan (Xu Ya-Jun). Lin Han-Min (Han Xiao-Lei), a cadre, is Chen Fu-Sheng's neighbor, and his daughter Lin Ping-Ping (Yuan Hua) and Chen Huan have been childhood sweethearts who grew up playing together. During the Cultural Revolution, Lin Han-Min was wrongly accused and punished, and Lin Ping-Ping, despite her excellent character and academic record, was denied entrance to her ideal university because of her father's political problems. At the same time, Chen Huan was admitted to a teachers' college, and the two gradually drifted apart.
Later, Lin Han-Min's wrongful conviction was overturned, and Lin Ping-Ping went on to study at Peking University, while the bond between her and Chen Huan was subjected to one test after another. Time flows quietly like water, and as the wheels of the era spin rapidly forward, the Chen and Lin families, these ordinary people, are swept up beneath those wheels, carried ever onward.
