Description:
One day the criminal investigation unit receives a complaint from Tongyi, the city's largest department store: someone is extorting money from the company's boss, Chen Jin-Tang, and threatening to blow up the building. The major crimes team led by captain Cheng Dong rushes into action to investigate this case with the hallmarks of organized crime. With no leads to speak of, they suddenly discover that it is threaded through with connections to the kidnapping of a blind girl, the murder of the mayor's assistant, and the murder of a highway toll collector. The criminals act cleanly and ruthlessly, and everything points to a criminal syndicate orchestrating it all with meticulous care. Just as the team, after untold hardships, closes in on the truth, captain Cheng Dong is thrown into prison on suspicion of raping and murdering a call girl, and the head of the criminal investigation bureau is ordered to take leave. At this moment human nature is put to the test: is the line between good and evil really so clear, is the division between black and white really so absolute?
