Description:
Journalism graduate Su Jing (Juan Zi), through the connections of her boyfriend Wu Zheng-Jun, lands a job as an externally hired reporter at a newspaper. The paper's editor-in-chief Wang Xian-Sheng (Hou Tian-Lai) is a sanctimonious lecher, and the newly arrived Su Jing fills him with predatory greed. The daughter of lawyer Si Dao-Lan (Li You-Bin), Tian-Tian (Li Xiao-Meng), is assaulted by a criminal disguised in women's clothing. Her mother Guan Gui-Zhen (Chao Li-Chuan), terrified of ruining her daughter's reputation, firmly opposes going to the police. Su Jing, hoping to warn others, publishes the story in the paper, and Si Dao-Lan and his wife find themselves under enormous social pressure. The dark and twisted Wang Xian-Sheng has long kept editorial director Jin Li-Li (Pan Jie) under his thumb, and now uses every kind of bait to lure Su Jing. Each time she cleverly escapes, and the enraged Wang Xian-Sheng begins a full-scale campaign to crush her. Guan Gui-Zhen was molested by a thug back in her school days, and during the Cultural Revolution she was raped by the rebel leader Wang Xian-Sheng, carrying the psychological scars for years.
