Description:
Young Fu Rong was born into a family of hereditary goldsmiths. Clever and eager to learn, she witnessed her elder sister's unhappy marriage and vowed to stand on her own feet, never to drift with the tide — she would take control of her own destiny. Fleeing an arranged marriage, she arrives in the capital and, at a garden poetry gathering, happens to meet the proud and haughty Prince Su, Xu Jin. Together they survive deadly perils, uncover the truth behind the murder case involving golden wares, capture Prince Cheng, Xu Mao, who secretly forged weapons, and find the true culprit who poisoned Lady Duan Fei. Show more With her exceptional learning, kind nature and self-reliant spirit, Fu Rong wins Xu Jin's sincere love, and he repeatedly rescues her in moments of danger. When Fu Rong is grief-stricken by the suicide of her mentor Liu Qing-Zhu, Xu Jin encourages her to rally and join him in finding the mastermind behind it all. While relieving victims of a disaster, Fu Rong discovers the rebellion plot of the emperor's uncle, Xu Ping, and with a jade-and-gold hairpin finds his secret chamber, ultimately forcing Xu Ping to take his own life and confess his guilt. After a series of life's upheavals, Fu Rong and Xu Jin turn their backs on fame and fortune, withdraw from the world hand in hand, and live out a happy life of mutual understanding and devotion.
