Description:
The Imperial Seal, passed down through generations, bears the inscription "By the Mandate of Heaven, may he live long and prosper." It is the foundation of the state. In the final years of the Eastern Han, the realm fell into chaos, and the Imperial Seal vanished. Sun Jian found it in a well within the palace at Luoyang. At that time, warlords rose on all sides, each coveting the Han dynasty's lands. Later, Sun Jian fell into an ambush. Before dying, he urged his son Sun Ce to carry on his legacy, support the Han court, and safeguard the Imperial Seal. Show more
Zhou Yu was a descendant of a prominent Jiangdong family, and the Zhou and Sun families had been friends for generations. Sun Jian and his son were branded as secretly hoarding the seal. Zhou Yu, however, chose to abandon the pen for the sword. In the chaos of the late Han, before becoming Grand Commander of Eastern Wu, the young Zhou Yu held fast to his belief in upholding the Han. Though skilled in martial arts, he had no way to serve his country. Biding his time, he believed he could find a wise ruler to restore the Han and realize his ideals. Sun Ce, meanwhile, saw through the truth of troubled times: human hearts are unpredictable. Amid tangled conspiracies, he trusted no one. He hoped to raise his own army and keep the people safe. Thus Zhou and Sun embarked on different paths to save the nation.
Later, Dong Zhuo seized the Han court, and Yuan Shao gathered the feudal lords in alliance to rescue the emperor. Zhou Yu seemed to see hope of realizing his ideal of upholding the Han.
