Description:
Xu Zhong-Xin (Alex Man) and his wife Luo Su-Shan (Josephine Lam), an investment director, lived a peaceful life. But faced with the 1997 issue, Zhong-Xin reluctantly accepted his wife's arrangement and went alone to Australia as an "astronaut." On the way he met a young mainlander, You Xiang-Dong (Francis Ng). Strangers in a foreign land, the two suffered endless bullying, and in hardship became sworn friends. Later, the immigration department uncovered the truth, and Xiang-Dong was deported back to Hong Kong. Show more Feeling the long separation from his wife, Zhong-Xin decided to return to Hong Kong, only to find that Su-Shan's old feelings for her ex-boyfriend Hou Shi-Jie (Eddie Cheung) had rekindled. Indignant for his friend, Xiang-Dong gathered a crowd and humiliated Shi-Jie. Shi-Jie believed Zhong-Xin was behind it and vowed to avenge the insult.
An Jing (Kathy Chow) came to know Zhong-Xin through a dispute between her sister An Qi (Yu Sin-Man) and Zhong-Xin's younger brother Zhong-Cheng (Lee Chung-Ling). They met again at work and saw more of each other, but due to shadows from their past relationships, they kept things merely friendly.
Meanwhile, Xiang-Dong's young maternal aunt Xie Xi-Xi (Cutie Mui) returned to Hong Kong hoping to find a partner. Xiang-Dong deceived Xi-Xi's feelings to get a green card, and the bickering couple produced one comedic scene after another.
Zhong-Xin's brother-in-law Zhao Kun failed in business, tricked Zhong-Xin into adding his insurance money to the shares, then absconded with the funds. Fortunately, with everyone's help, Zhong-Xin weathered the crisis, and his relationship with An Jing advanced further.
Having achieved success, Shi-Jie colluded with Zhao Kun and returned to Hong Kong to fight Zhong-Xin over the shares, and together with the group's young heir Zi-Qian Xian (Bobby Au-Yeung) plotted to take over Zhong-Xin's business. Instead, Zhong-Xin won the appreciation of group chairman Song Tang (Bao Fang), who even wanted to take him as a son-in-law, which only fueled Shi-Jie's jealousy — they became irreconcilable enemies. At this time, Zhong-Xin and An Jing's relationship also reached a boiling point with the appearance of Zi-Jun (Donna Chu)
