Pang Kam-Chau (Bobby Au-Yeung) is an opportunist. One mistake causes his business to fail, leaving him with nothing. Cheung-Sing now plays part-time for a miraculous team that has just been promoted from Division Three to Division Two. Show more
Kam-Chau sees this as a once-in-a-lifetime chance to turn his life around. Pretending to be a superfan, he deceives the team's owner and coach, Fan Tai-Wai (Hui Siu-Hung), into making him the team's operations director.
Later, several team members plan to leave to prepare for their public exams. Kam-Chau proposes that if they stay, he will find a way to help them all achieve excellent results. Kwok-Chu even brings in the famous tutoring queen, Yim Ka-Lai (Sheren Tang), to set up a special exam preparation class for the team.
The Smuggling King vs. the Goddess of A's
Pang Kam-Chau was once a smuggling king earning millions a month, but his overconfidence led him to miscalculate, plunging his business into trouble. His girlfriend ran off with his money, leaving him with nothing.
By chance, Kam-Chau learns that Lian Cheung-Sing, with whom he once smuggled goods, now plays part-time for a legendary team newly promoted from Division Three to Division Two. The team's sponsor, Ching Kwok-Chu, is preparing to sign with a rising international sports brand and intends to make the team its advertising representative in Asia, with the team's three treasures—Fan Pui-Tung, Chan Lik-Ban, and Lam Yik-Dan—promoted as brand ambassadors. Kam-Chau sees this as his chance to turn things around. He pretends to be a fan to get the team's owner and coach, Fan Tai-Wai, to make him operations director, and Kwok-Chu, to fulfill the contract, is forced to work with Kam-Chau and share the profits.
But then the three treasures plan to leave the team to prepare for their public exams. To keep them, Kam-Chau sets up a "special training class," promising that everyone can score 20 points! Meanwhile, to fulfill the contract, Kwok-Chu brings in the famous Hong Kong private tutor Yim Ka-Lai, known as the "Goddess of A's," to help Kam-Chau.
Ka-Lai has always only taken students from elite schools and has produced many top scorers with ten A's, earning her the title "Goddess of A's." But faced with a class of students who are hopeless at studying, she is at a loss. Kam-Chau threatens Ka-Lai's younger sister, Ka-Lok, who is in Form Five at an elite school, to provide exam papers from that school so that Pui-Tung and the others can improve. This leads to disagreements between Ka-Lai and Kam-Chau over teaching methods.
IQ and EQ
Kam-Chau later discovers that Tai-Wai's deceased wife was his own mother, and that Pui-Tung is his half-brother! Kam-Chau believes his mother divorced his father for money, so he constantly makes things difficult for Tai-Wai and Pui-Tung. In contrast, when Tai-Wai learns that Kam-Chau is his late wife's son, he treats him like his own, but Kam-Chau refuses to accept it. To avoid affecting Pui-Tung, the two men decide to keep the truth hidden.
Kam-Chau accidentally discovers the secret affair between the married Kwok-Chu and Ka-Lai, and seizes the opportunity to blackmail them for benefits. But later, due to Kam-Chau's carelessness, their affair is exposed. Ka-Lai's sisters, Ka-Ming and Ka-Lok, who always idolized her, are instantly disillusioned. Ka-Ming even runs away from home. With her elder brother and sister-in-law's blame and the students' parents' demands, Ka-Lai doesn't know how to face it all.
Kam-Chau later realizes that Ka-Lai's feelings for Kwok-Chu are genuine, not for money as he thought. He develops pity for her, which turns into love, but believing Ka-Lai is devoted to Kwok-Chu, he suppresses his feelings. In fact, Ka-Lai also begins to have feelings for Kam-Chau, but she too believes he would never like her, so their relationship cannot develop further. After leaving Kwok-Chu, Ka-Lai decides to focus on her tutoring career and signs a cooperation agreement with Kam-Chau, hoping to help Pui-Tung and the others achieve good results, polish their reputation, and then open a big tutoring school. The two not only begin a working relationship but also one of mutual care and support.
Influenced by Ka-Lai and the football-crazy Pui-Tung and his friends, Kam-Chau finally understands the value of family and friends. He accepts Tai-Wai, and they build a relationship that is both fatherly and friendly. But on the eve of the public exams, not wanting to affect Pui-Tung, they still insist on keeping the secret. However, at this time, Kwok-Chu causes Ka-Lai's family to fall into financial hardship, creates trouble for the special class members one after another, and even tells Pui-Tung the truth about his relationship with Kam-Chau. The special class is in disarray on the eve of the exams! Kam-Chau knows it's all because Kwok-Chu is a sore loser and wants Ka-Lai back. He resolutely negotiates with Kwok-Chu, saying he can give up the team and his chance to turn his life around, as long as Kwok-Chu leaves Ka-Lai, Pui-Tung, and the others alone!
Will Kwok-Chu stop? Will Ka-Lai yield and return to Kwok-Chu for the sake of her family and Kam-Chau? Will Pui-Tung accept the fact that Kam-Chau is his brother? And can the special class members successfully score 20 points in the public exams?
