Part five of Eighteen-Year-Old Great-Grandmother Arrives to Restore the Family’s Glory (十八岁太奶奶驾到,重整家族荣耀第五部) took first place in a Hongguo chart published on November 7. Dianyingjie, citing Short Drama Encyclopedia, reported a popularity index of 81.19 million. This measures interest in the production, not its number of viewers, and should not be treated as an audience or view count.
The same report lists a rating of 9.5, roughly 3.19 million favorites and 8.05 million likes for part five. These describe different ways of engaging with the series and cannot be added together to calculate total reach. They belong to a specific chart update, so comparisons with another day’s figures need to take the date into account.
The new installment launched on October 31. In its official announcement a week earlier, Hongguo promised a continuation of the family story: heroine Rong Yu discovers that the Ji family has relatives living apart from the others and sets out to find them. The platform presented the journey as a mixture of comedy and a warm reunion story. Viewers were offered free access to all episodes.
Second in the report is the romantic drama One Moment of Surrender: Mr. Huo’s Heart Is Moved (一念沉沦,霍总心动了), with an index of 62.17 million and a rating of 9.1. It runs for 96 episodes. A River of Spring Water (一江春水) placed third, with 56.53 million and a rating of 9.4. This is a new short drama, not one of the feature films or television productions sharing its Chinese title.
A fifth installment reaching the top suggests that familiar characters can retain their appeal even in a format built around very short episodes. One chart snapshot, however, establishes neither the commercial success of the franchise nor its superiority to traditional television: the report provides no revenue figures or comparable audience data.
