Description:
The film depicts the bumpy fate of Zhou Xiao-Ying, a singer and dancer performing on the Shanghai stage in the 1930s and 1940s. Woven into the plot are songs once performed by the famous film actress Zhou Xuan, known as the "Golden Voice." The fates of entertainers in the old society were much alike, so although the film does not recreate Zhou Xuan's life, it still carries her shadow.
