Description:
The story follows Mark, a man grieving the loss of his wife in middle age. To pay for her treatment, he sold off his business and was left drowning in debt. Having lost his source of income, Mark raises his daughter alone, the two of them depending on each other. To make ends meet, he takes on odd jobs wherever he can. A close friend, hoping to help, lends Mark a car so he can drive for Didi. Before she passed, Mark's wife made him promise to hide the truth of her death from their young daughter, so as not to hinder the child's healthy growth — they told the girl that her mother had gone abroad to study. Show more Facing his daughter's doubts about her mother's death while struggling to make a living, Mark is often worn out in body and mind, wracked with pain. Because of his taxi work, Mark frequently can't make it to the kindergarten in time to pick up his child, and the teacher's reproaches leave him feeling deeply guilty. He drives his taxi with his daughter in tow, enduring wind and dew, while also running to bookstores to buy early-childhood textbooks, taking on his daughter's preschool education himself. Though life is hard for father and daughter, they find joy in each other. One day, by chance, Mark helps a female teacher named Shan Yang. His kindness and sincerity move this good and beautiful teacher, and with a little matchmaking from his friend, the two eventually fall in love. During this time, Shan Yang's ex-husband provokes Mark in every possible way, sabotaging them at every turn. As a result, Mark is fired by the Didi company, and with Shan Yang's help he gets his job back.
