Description:

Laoqiang has been sung in the central Shaanxi region for over a thousand years. Wang Ning-Li, the twelfth-generation inheritor of Laoqiang, is heartbroken by its decline, but what pains him even more is that his son Jun Wa cares only about going out to earn money and has no interest in inheriting this traditional art. Meanwhile, Wang Man-Jun and Wang Bao-Lai from the Laoqiang troupe are also preparing to leave to find work because of their own hardships, leaving Wang Ning-Li, who longs to revive Laoqiang, in a predicament.
Ma Xin-Ke, who has made a living robbing tombs for generations, arrives at Yangjia Village with his nephews Ma Shuan-Cai and Guo Bin. After surveying, they discover a cache of cultural relics in the village farmland, and that farmland happens to belong to Wang Ning-Li. Just as they are about to steal the relics, Wang Ning-Li and the others accidentally catch them in the act. The appearance of the relics instantly throws everyone in the village into turmoil: hand them over or keep them? Wang Ning-Li and the others engage in a heated debate. But how could Ma Xin-Ke and his gang give up? They decide to snatch the relics back, only to fail unexpectedly. By chance, they see a TV news report in which a reporter interviews Wang Ning-Li about Laoqiang. Suddenly Ma Xin-Ke hatches a bold plan.
People from the provincial department of culture come to investigate Laoqiang and announce that they intend to include it in the national intangible cultural heritage list.
