Description:
After the 5/12 Wenchuan earthquake, the Second Artillery Corps of the Chinese People's Liberation Army organized officers and soldiers to go to the hard-hit Beichuan area for rescue and relief work. Among the relief troops was a special cultural propaganda team. Driving a mobile cultural propaganda vehicle, they traveled to the front lines and to the resettlement sites for disaster victims, broadcasting news and showing films for the officers and soldiers as well as the affected people, conveying the voice of the Party Central Committee and bringing the warmth of the people across the country. They not only gave full play to the positive role of cultural propaganda, but also cooperated with the engineering units and the field medical team to outstandingly complete one arduous earthquake relief task after another.
The entire film was shot on location in the disaster area, reflecting up close the heroic deeds of the PLA troops on the front lines of earthquake relief. It portrays vividly distinctive characters such as cultural officer Du Zhen-Sheng, engineering battalion commander Shi Xing, and female doctor of the medical team Lv Wei, with a plot full of ups and downs.
