Description:

Centered on the Miao people's lusheng, this film blends comedy, inspiration, and music with the flavor of an ethnic minority. In the story, Tao Tian-Yi, the only son of a family renowned for the "Golden Lusheng," is expected by his father to carry on that honor. But Tian-Yi has musical aspirations of his own: after a failed talent show, he unexpectedly becomes an internet celebrity. In the final showdown with a band, Tian-Yi calms his mind, listens to the sounds of all living things, and at last plays the Miao sacred tune "The Phoenix Spreads Its Wings."
