Midnight Taxi 午夜出租车

Description:

Ban Hai and Ban Long are twins. The elder, Ban Hai, is a criminal investigator, while the younger, Ban Long, drives a taxi. A car-theft ring mistakes the younger brother for Ban Hai and beats him into the hospital. The criminal investigation unit turns the situation to their advantage: Ban Hai gets behind the wheel of a taxi. In the end, the gang is lured out of hiding and rounded up all at once. The film makes extensive use of Soderbergh-style handheld camerawork and Gonzalez's narrative techniques, but it unfortunately got lost among the many excellent domestic mainstream films of that year.
