Description:
On July 23, 1931, in a train compartment on the Nanjing–Shanghai railway line bound from Nanjing to Shanghai, sat Finance Minister of the Republic of China Song Zi-Wen and Japanese Minister to China Chong Guang-Kui. Three hundred kilometers away, at the North Station of Shanghai, the anti-Chiang faction within the Kuomintang had enlisted the "number one assassin of the Republic," Wang Ya-Qiao, while Japan's "sorcerer soldier" Tanaka had colluded with Shanghai's underworld forces. A shocking bloodbath was about to unfold. Gunshots rang out, and the crowd scattered in panic. Yet the one who fell, struck by a bullet, was another young man dressed in the same suit and hat. Why did the bullets meant for Song Zi-Wen and Chong Guang-Kui ultimately strike someone else? Who fired the two mysterious shots that echoed over the North Station before the crime? Behind this tangled case of blood, what hidden truth lies?
