Description:

Ah Dick (Dickson Lee) has seen many of his friends emigrate, and his girlfriend, a nurse (Woo Ying-Man), keeps urging him to move to Canada too. Ah Dick says no out loud, but deep down he longs for a quiet life abroad. Ah Dick is an assistant manager; his manager is planning an investment immigration to Canada and says there is a place in it for him. Suddenly the company announces there will be no year-end double pay, the colleagues are up in arms and demand that Ah Dick negotiate with the manager. To keep his own job, Ah Dick faces the unscrupulous manager with no bargaining power at all. The rough truck driver Kit-Jai (Lam King-Kong) is the son of Uncle Chung, the foreman at Ah Dick's garment factory, and delivers goods for the factory. Kit-Jai and Ah Dick are two very different people, but as they often make deliveries together, they gradually come to understand each other. The manager fires Uncle Chung without cause just before his retirement, and Kit-Jai clashes with the manager. Ah Dick fantasizes about quitting in style, free at last from being complicit with the manager, but real life is another matter.
