The Gu family is a wealthy and prominent household. Old Mrs. Gu (Tang Mei-Mei) holds the highest authority at home, along with two married couples: the eldest son (Ling Lai-Man) and the second son (Lu Nei-Shi) with their wives. One day, the second son's boy — Old Mrs. Gu's grandson — goes missing, throwing the family into a panic. When it is later confirmed to be a kidnapping, the second son and his wife want to call the police, but Old Mrs. Gu, fearing the kidnappers will kill the hostage, firmly opposes it. Show more Yet the second son has already taken the initiative to call the police, and officers led by Inspector Wong (Ling Man-Hoi) arrive at the Gu residence to begin their investigation……
After days of police investigation into the kidnapping of the Gu family's legitimate grandson, it emerges that the relationships among family members may be connected to the case. Since the Gu family is wealthy and the estate is inherited only by male heirs, the police suspect that the eldest son of the Gu family, who has only two daughters, might be involved.
