Description:
Set against the turbulent backdrop of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period, this film tells the story of Yang Jiye and She Taijun in their youth: In the final years of the Later Han, the throne stood empty and foreign lands stirred with unrest. Within Linzhou, the foremost fortress of the northwest, where martial prowess and honor were held above all, the Yang family of Linzhou repeatedly fell victim to secret plots while escorting a Jin merchant out of Shaanxi. During the rescue, they learned that this man was none other than the current heir to the throne. To stabilize the Central Plains, the great border stronghold fought the Khitan to the death, snatching the sovereign from the jaws of the tiger.
