Xing Fu Jie 幸福街

Description:

Stories happen every day, and happiness is everywhere.
This is an endless modern story that keeps pace with the times and unfolds along with life itself; this is a street you can find anywhere in a modern city, and yet a most extraordinary street woven from countless ever-changing plots, where things are both expected and unexpected; the people who live here go about their ordinary lives each day, just like you; the people who live here stage every day a drama of life about career, family, love, friendship, and kinship; the fates of the men and women, old and young, on Happiness Street will always weigh on your heart and walk with you through every day.
Happiness Street grew out of the soap opera Coronation Street, produced by Britain's Granada Television and broadcast for as long as 40 years, and building on Coronation Street's successful experience, it was reworked in light of China's national conditions, the lives of ordinary Chinese people, and the viewing psychology of Chinese audiences. Set in a modern urban community called "Happiness Street," the series tells of the intricate conflicts and emotional entanglements between two families — those of master chef Shi Wei-Tian and sports star Xu Xiao-Yang — while a colorful cast of characters, including a migrant working girl, a bit-part actress, a bar owner, and a flower shop manager, weaves in and out, continuing for viewers this never-ending story of "happiness."
