Description:
Through a series of vivid events and characters in a hospital's emergency department, "Never Give Up" portrays from many angles how people live in modern life and how they judge life and death. The mother of emergency doctor Du Xiao-Qing killed herself during the Cultural Revolution, her father also passed away a year ago, and her elder brother Du Lu-Sheng died on the China-Vietnam front twenty years earlier, leaving behind his young wife Zhou Ying-Xue and son Du Tian-Tian. Li Da-Ming, head of the emergency department, and Mei Yun, head of surgery at the same hospital, were a like-minded couple, but Du Xiao-Qing, who returned from abroad after a divorce, works with Li Da-Ming in perfect harmony, and their relationship stirs gossip in the hospital. Hospital director Bai Tian-Ming was a good friend of the fallen Du Lu-Sheng and has silently loved Zhou Ying-Xue for years, yet this feeling has never been accepted... The story unfolds around the intricate emotional relationships among these few emergency room medical staff.
