Xiang Li Xiang Qin Zhu Gao Lou 乡里乡亲住高楼

Description:

The Dechang family on the outskirts of the city has struck lucky: overnight they went from farmers to city dwellers, moving into a skyscraper over twenty stories high — truly a case of the master rising high and even the chickens and dogs ascending to heaven with him. And so Lao San, behind the back of his sweetheart Xiu Lan, dreams of marrying fitness coach Fang Xiao-Xing; the wife of the Second brother gets beauty treatments and works out, and has even latched onto a wealthy Hong Kong gentleman, Mr. Xu; while the old man, who spent half his life gripping a sickle, quietly and without a word has struck up a twilight romance with Aunt Fang from the city... This comedic effect, born from the sudden changes in life brought by suburban development, is sure to have audiences laughing and rejoicing against the backdrop of China's reform achievements.
