Norman Bethune 诺尔曼·白求恩

Description:

Bethune (Trevor Hayes) is a doctor devoted to healing the sick and saving lives. After marrying his beloved Frances (Cindy Busby), the two move to Detroit, where Bethune works alongside Dr. Grant, who greatly admires him, and formally begins his medical career. As his patients and reputation grow, so does his income—but at the same time, his inner confusion and depression deepen: he has lost the original purpose that first made him a doctor. The stagnation of his career brings indelible harm to Bethune's family, and in the end he and Frances divorce.
After contracting tuberculosis, Bethune begins researching treatments for the disease and successfully cures himself through a new therapeutic approach. In the process, he also comes to understand the questions that had long troubled him, and he realizes that being a doctor means far more than simply treating illness and saving lives.
