You You Cun Cao Xin 悠悠寸草心

Description:

The story takes place in the 1980s, when the spring breeze of reform swept across cities and villages. Farmers who once depended on the mercy of the heavens grew rich, and among them "ten-thousand-yuan households" emerged early on. Cao Dong-Sheng, a farmer living in Meizhen, is one such figure: by contracting a tea plantation, he has come to live in comfort. Yet his wife Cui E suffers from intermittent mental illness, which often casts a dark cloud over the household. For this reason Cao Dong-Sheng divorces Cui E and marries the beautiful widow Jin-Feng, though he still keeps Cui E at home to be cared for. But peace and tranquility do not arrive with this: Cui E's two children, Jia-Wang and Jia-Xin, oppose their father's remarriage and are fiercely hostile toward Jin-Feng and the children she brings with her, Yu-Hui and Yu-Lian. And Jin-Feng's younger brother, along with Cui E's relatives, also become a source of headache for her.
