Description:
The fruit village's fruit suddenly stopped selling.
How to choose a "go-getter" to sell the fruit became the old village chief's headache. In fact, the village had no shortage of go-getters, each with a trick of their own. For instance, Qin Mu-Jiang's carpentry, a blend of rustic and modern, was famous far and wide; Da Ma-Shao's farmhouse restaurant, with its one-pot dish as the star, sent its aroma thirty li down the wind; and Liu Yi-Shou's "flying chickens" left diners gaping — imagine, chickens that could fly up trees. Liu Da-Peng with his company, Big Li with his internet cafe — each had his own flair, and together they made up the "celebrities" of the fruit village.
Strangely enough, though Liu Yi-Shou could turn "country chickens" into "flying chickens," his personal credibility was rock bottom. And it was affecting his son's love life. It turned out that Liu Yi-Shou's son had fallen for Qin Mu-Jiang's daughter. But Qin Mu-Jiang firmly believed that "Liu Yi-Shou" always kept something up his sleeve and was not in his league, so he resolutely suppressed the Liu boy's pursuit of his daughter. Liu Yi-Shou therefore needed to quickly overhaul his image and become a go-getter with a sterling reputation in Lihua Village.
Worse still, no sooner had Liu Yi-Shou called himself a go-getter of Lihua Village than every go-getter in the village, big and small, started challenging him. Selling apples became a stage: one finished his act, another took the floor, and everyone, locals and outsiders alike, showed off their marketing tricks. Among them, Liu Yi-Shou, with a farmer's wit, and Qin Mu-Jiang drifted apart and came together, split and reunited; sometimes Liu gained the upper hand, sometimes he outsmarted himself. In this contest of personal prowess, Lihua Village's apples found a market, people's characters were elevated, and more importantly, a young woman college student became a go-getter praised by all and became Liu Yi-Shou's daughter-in-law. The go-getters of Lihua Village, through all the unfolding events, calculated their own little schemes, striving endlessly for themselves and for the homeland they lived in.
