Daddy Run 老爸快跑

Description:

Gu Xiao-Hua (Dong Zhi) accuses Zhang San (Xu Zheng) of lacking ambition and files for divorce, telling him that if he cannot earn five hundred thousand, she will take their son abroad. Their elementary-school son accidentally discovers the divorce papers and runs away from school. When Grandpa Zhang (Wang Hu-Cheng) learns his grandson is missing, the shock lands him in the hospital, where he is diagnosed with cancer. It hits Zhang San like a bolt from the blue: to raise money for his father's treatment, he sells the old man's antique shop and spends every day running. After the divorce, earning the full five hundred thousand becomes his next goal — otherwise he will lose custody of his son. To make money fast, Zhang San enters the "Beautiful Life" jewelry company contest, hoping to win a six-hundred-thousand prize. But the contest director, Yuan Shui-Yao (Yi Chun-De), refuses to think highly of the down-and-out Zhang San, even though the two were high-school classmates. His father's treatment fails and he passes away, and Gu Xiao-Hua throws Zhang San out of the house, leaving him and his son dependent on the kindness of others.
