Description:
In her later years, Wu Ze-Tian (Kara Hui) plots to eliminate the crown prince but fails and is forced to pass the throne to Emperor Zhong-Zong Li Xian. Palace maids Meng Fan (Cici Liu) and Meng Fu (Annie Liu) are caught up in the turmoil, living through one bloody struggle for power in the harem after another.
Princess Tai Ping (Kristy Yeung) sends Meng Fan to get close to Li Long-Ji (Lee Seung-Hyun), and the two fall secretly in love. Empress Wei (He Sai-Fei) dreams of the throne, meddles in state affairs, and the court is thrown into chaos. Meng Fan befriends Shangguan Wan-Er (Florence Tan) and comes to feel deeply how hard it is to survive in the palace. Princess An Le harbors ambitions for the throne, uses Meng Fu, and joins forces with Empress Wei to do away with Crown Prince Li Zhong-Jun.
On the condition that Meng Fu and An Le are spared, Meng Fan opens channels through all six bureaus and aids Li Long-Ji in his coup. The coup succeeds, Meng Fu and An Le are killed, and Shangguan Wan-Er is executed.
