Description:
Detective Lao Dang is exceptionally skilled at his job. When he reaches retirement age, the chief refuses to let him go — he insists that Lao Dang must first crack a few major cases or train a successor before he can go home. Lao Dang chooses Zhao Qiang, Li Yong, and Wang Yu-Juan as his apprentices, and soon takes on several major cases. To outsiders these cases seem to have no leads and are impossibly complex, but to him they are a piece of cake.
Lao Dang's wife has always kept a very close eye on him, afraid that he might stray. Only after Lao Dang truly retires does his wife's worry finally subside.
