Description:
At dawn in Shanghai, Wilson, a dissolute British official of the Shanghai Municipal Council, is shot dead in a bar. Inspector Zhong Lang (Wallace Chung) of the French Concession police, who happens to jog past the scene, is dressed exactly like the killer, and so an eyewitness identifies him as the murderer. Captain Liu Tian-De (Eric Wan Tin-Chiu) of the International Settlement police arrives at the scene after the report and finds Wilson's money on Zhong Lang, leaving him unable to defend himself. Show more Yu Sheng-Nan (Qi Fang) and Han Fei (Ashton Chen) are frantic with worry, but Wilson held a high post, the British side is furious, and the old grudge between Zhong Lang and Liu Tian-De, once his mentor, has smoldered for years, putting Zhong Lang in an extremely dire position. Sheng-Nan and Han Fei are forced to launch their own investigation, and meanwhile a new murder occurs, planting doubts in Liu Tian-De's mind about Zhong Lang's case.
The trial is imminent, and Zhong Lang faces an unprecedented crisis.
