Description:
On the eve of the Liaoshen Campaign, Zheng Zhao-Yang, an underground Party member hidden in the Beiping police bureau, is forced into an emergency retreat after being betrayed by a traitor. He takes with him a list of underground agents carefully prepared by the Kuomintang.
Zheng Zhao-Yang arrives in Xibaipo to attend a training course for those who will take over the cities, and the roster he brought back through countless dangers deals a devastating blow to the Kuomintang agents lurking in the Beiping area. Show more
The Kuomintang is forced to activate a special operations group made up entirely of "cold chess" agents, code-named Peach Garden. And the man in charge of "Peach Garden" is Zheng Zhao-Yang's elder brother, the secretary-general of the Beiping Youth Promotion Association and a renowned doctor, Zheng Chao-Shan.
With the peaceful liberation of Beiping, Zheng Zhao-Yang returns to the city. What he faces is not only the remnants of the lurking agents and tens of thousands of Kuomintang stragglers, but also the mysterious "Peach Garden" operations group and his brother Zheng Chao-Shan, code-named Phoenix.
The two brothers, each representing his own class, begin a tit-for-tat confrontation. In public they are good brothers; in secret they each use every trick at their disposal, and the conflict escalates without end.
In the end, the Peach Garden operations group is completely wiped out.
Earth-shaking changes have taken place in the city of Beijing. Everyone seems to have been reborn through fire, their eyes full of hope.
