Description:
Kang Xi Incognito Travel 3 follows the style of the previous two installments — a new-style costume light comedy that uses the past to satirize the present and criticize social ills. It is made up of three story arcs: "The Brocade Robe," "The Food Box," and "The Bell." In "The Brocade Robe," Kang Xi (Zhang Guo-Li) sends the chief eunuch San De-Zi (Zhao Liang) back to his hometown to investigate a corrupt official, but once family ties become involved, the matter grows hard to resolve. "The Food Box" is set off by a food box sent by Ga Li, a relative of Yi Fei (Dang Chit). Show more And in "The Bell," Kang Xi unexpectedly leaves the palace alone and takes on the life of an ordinary commoner.
The classic costume TV drama Kang Xi Incognito Travel produced five installments between 1997 and 2007. All five continue the series' style: both serious and playful, they portray Kang Xi's approachability during his incognito travels while also vividly capturing his awe-inspiring side as he sternly punishes corrupt officials. The first four installments were directed by and starred Zhang Guo-Li, while the fifth was directed by Sun Shu-Pei.
