Liu Si-Yang (Shao Feng) and Qiao Hui-Min (Vieven Liu), educated youths from Kaoshantun, had planned to seize this chance to study together and become husband and wife, but the unscrupulous fellow youth Wang Fu-Gui (Xiao Guang-Yi) framed them. Show more After many twists and turns, the lovers were parted forever, each in a different corner of the world. Ten years passed in the blink of an eye. Liu, now a doctoral graduate returned from abroad, arrives with his wife Hao Jia-Li (Liu Xin) to head a department at a university, only to unexpectedly reunite with Hui-Min, who is already divorced.
In the tide of the new era, the two seem to glimpse the dawn of a reconciliation, but fate is ever mischievous: Liu Si-Yang, Qiao Hui-Min, and everyone around them are still forced to accept the sway and the arrangements of destiny.
