An alcoholic who works in investment promotion in Beijing returns to his hometown and discovers he has an eight-year-old son (raised by the alcoholic's own father).
The boy refuses to acknowledge this sudden, liquor-soaked father, and the alcoholic, of course, won't give up, trying every trick to make his son call him dad. From the crude, forceful approach he starts with to the petty schemes he resorts to later, everything only makes the boy dislike him more. The alcoholic promises to buy his son a computer, but his father dismisses it as drunken nonsense. Show more In the end he takes a risk — turning himself in — to get the money and keep his promise, and wins his son's acceptance. But when the boy inadvertently calls him dad, the alcoholic can no longer hear it.
