Description:
During the Tang dynasty, Prince Wulihan (Wu Ri-Gen) of the Kingdom of Dayue fled to Didao for refuge. There he received help from Li Cunshan, the commander of Didao's troops, and his daughter, as well as guidance from the eminent monk Sonam Gyal of Wolong Temple. Moved by their kindness, he let go of his hatred and devoted himself to spiritual practice. However, his uncle Gege'er, who had usurped the throne, refused to leave him in peace and kept waiting for a chance to kill him and silence him forever. Show more Driven into a corner, Wulihan fled back to Dayue, rallied his father's old followers, and successfully restored the kingdom. Yet, because of the departure of his beloved Li Chenxuan (Xia Qing), he vented his anger on the Tang dynasty and raised an army to attack and occupy Didao, nearly killing his own son. In the end, inspired by the spirit of Sonam Gyal, who 'sacrificed himself to feed the tiger,' he came to understand himself anew, handed the Kingdom of Dayue over to the Tang dynasty, and returned to Wolong Temple to become a monk and pursue spiritual cultivation.
