In the late Qing Dynasty, the government was corrupt and the people struggled to survive. Huang Qi-Ying (Felix Wong Yat-Wah), the young master of a medicine shop, is full of a sense of justice. He takes the Southern Fist King Lu A-Cai as his master and trains himself into a skilled martial artist. Tian Hui-Nan (Jade Leung Chang), the heir of the Northern Leg King, comes south to avenge her father and happens to meet Ying, and the two build a deep bond. Song Qi-Wen (Jay Lau Gam-Ling), the only daughter of a wealthy merchant, admires Ying's chivalrous conduct and falls for him, but Ying is in love with Nan, while the naturally superhuman Iron Bridge Three (Derek Kwok Jing-Hung) secretly loves Wen...
At the time, Mang Gu-Ge-Er (Yu Lian-Zeng) was the governor of Guangdong and Guangxi. On the surface he knew no martial arts, but in truth he had inherited the authentic Eagle Claw technique and was highly skilled. Secretly, under the name of the White Lotus Sect, he poisoned the common people. Nan's father's killer, Miao Zhuo-Feng, comes south in search of the Eagle Claw King, and joins with Cai to create new moves to break the Eagle Claw technique, but sadly both fall to Mang's deadly hand. Before dying, they each pass on their life's martial arts to Ying and Nan respectively. Later, Ying uses the "Tiger Crane Twin Form Fist" to defeat the White Lotus Sect, sees through Mang's conspiracy, and joins with Nan to create the "Shadowless Leg" to break the Eagle Claw and kill Mang, fulfilling Cai's and Miao's dying wishes. But with the tangled three-way relationship among Ying, Nan, and Wen, how will they find their own way?
